Sportsmanship Award Winners

The member schools’ Student Council Presidents first established the Sportsmanship Award on May 2, 1968.  This was the only year a trophy was awarded or team honored for sportsmanship until 1986.  In 1986 the NJSIAA proposed all Leagues and Conferences honor teams/schools that exemplify good sportsmanship throughout all of their programs.  A system has been devised to allow the coaches to evaluate each school they compete against for their sportsmanship qualities.  The Sportsmanship Committee Chair totals the combined evaluations and determines the award winner for the year.  A banner is awarded to each school by the Conference and the NJSIAA.
